Planning a Trip When Everyone is Off
One of the best parts about owning a small business is that there are times of the year that are just SLOW. For me that time is over Thanksgiving and Christmas. All of my clients have very busy summer schedules and tend to take off around November and December. This works out perfectly for me because it also falls on a nationally recognized holiday. I always try and take my big trip in November and a smaller trip in December. Travel deals and schedules are already out for the holidays, so it isn't too soon to start thinking of a trip for December. I am looking at a few different options for my small December beach trip.
Option One: Hyatt Zilara Cancun- All inclusive, adults only, direct flight from Austin, Hyatt points, 50% off promotion right now
Option Two: Pardisus Playa del Carmen- Sale deal as above, minus Hyatt points and promotion, plus really amazing reviews.
Option Three: Andaz Papagayo- Absolutely dying to go here, but may need more than three days to do a Costa Rica trip.
The most important part about planning a trip when everyone is off is that hotels and flights can be very expensive. Most airlines have flights available for December already, but some don't (like Southwest). I always recommend booking a hotel early, but being sure you can cancel it if you can't find a great flight.
December is a very, very popular month to travel, but planning ahead and shopping for deals can make all the difference.
