Collecting Miles and Points When You Really Need Them
Collecting miles and points has been a hobby of mine for a few years now and it has afforded me some pretty incredible opportunities. I've stayed at the Andaz in Costa Rica for free, I've bought first class tickets to SIngapore for free and I've gone on a ton of trips that I never could have dreamed about taking.
Recently I found out that my mom was going to have lung surgery and that I needed to travel home to Atlanta the very next week. When I logged on to Delta's website flights were over $1,500 each way for the flight time I wanted.
I always collect points when I buy airline flights, even when I'm not a frequent flyer. I luckily have been collecting Delta points for a few years and had enough to buy a ticket home to Atlanta for 17,500 miles and $5.60.
I've never been so thankful to be collecting miles and points. While it's amazing to fly around the world and stay in fancy hotels, but the best redemption for points is when you really need them.
