What to do in Longboat Key

I recently went to visit my Dad in Longboat Key, where he and my mom go each winter because #snowbirds. Even though the average age on the Island was...old...I really had am amazing time exploring. Here are a few of my favorite things to do on Longboat Key!

1. BEACH! The beach on Longboat Key is amazing. It is the Gulf side of the state so the water is much warmer than the Atlantic side. I spent a lot of time walking up and down the beach, laying out and enjoying the water.

2. Eating fresh fish. There are some great places to eat fresh fish on Longboat Key! My favorite place we ate fish was at Dry Dock! We also drove into Sarasota and picked up fish that we grilled at Walts Fish Market!

3. Enjoy a few shops. St Armands Circle is home to a bunch of shops and restaurants. The weather was beautiful in February and perfect for walking around.

I would definitely go back to Longboat Key next winter when the weather is miserable everywhere but there! I flew into Tampa and drove an hour, but you can also fly into Sarasota and drive just 15 minutes to the island. I just love chasing summer!
