A Week in Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island

During our trip to Amelia Island over Christmas, we spent some of our time exploring the local town of Fernandina Beach. There isn't much to do outside of the resort, but there were a few highlights.

29 South Restaurant- It's always nice to leave the resort for dinner and 29 South was an amazing find! They are a farm to table restaurant that offers delicious Southern cuisine. We really enjoyed the fried green tomato short stack, the polenta jar and the sweet tea brined pork chop.

Cucina South- This was our favorite meal of the trip and the food was beyond yummy. I rarely eat Italian food so it was awesome to eat some Linguine and Clams, anti pasta salad and sausage pizza. We really indulged and our group of 10 enjoyed every bite.

Shopping and Walking- There are a ton of cute little stores to see in the town. We really enjoyed the toy store, pajama store and antique store.

Even though we loved the Ritz and wanted to spend most of our time there. It was really nice to get out and enjoy the town.
