One of the hardest parts of this summer for me has been that I can't really travel. This is my busiest time at work and even with my amazing team working at 100% capacity, I really can't travel during this time. I went on a beach weekend trip to Port Aransas and spent most of my time sitting in the condo attached to my computer and clients. Now that the summer is coming to an end, I am really looking forward to having some more free time to travel. I have a bunch of trips coming up, yet I still seem to have a little bit of PTSD toward traveling after my weekend trip this summer. I'm definitely using a few handy tips I have to make the most out of traveling when you own your own business.
How to travel when you own your own business
1. Travel during your slow time- No time is "slow" for me, but I try to always travel in the Fall and Winter when my camps are moving a little more slowly.
2. Make sure your team is well equipped- This is the most important thing! Make sure your team is equipped to handle anything when you leave. Make sure they have the skills, training and time to help when you are gone.
3. Work in overdrive before you leave- Just as important, work your ass of before you leave to make sure everything is in order. This way you don't have to worry about lingering items on your to-do list when you are vacationing.
