BEST MEAL EVER. And I'm not even exaggerating. We told our travel agent that we loved food and he recommended we try fitting in a lunch with Chef Bruce, owner of The Flagship. We were a little skeptical about making lunch reservations so far in advance, but we took the leap and booked anyway. We were SO glad we did. Chef Bruce serves a 5 course lunch with wine pairings out of his home in Simonstown. Chef Bruce is definitely a character and he cooks some of the most amazing food I have eaten.
My fav dish: Fish and Chips: Oven baked ‘Green’ risotto, crushed peas with Ali-Kreukel cream Seaweed lettuce | poached quails egg | pepper bubbles | local chorizo…ocean
Each course consisted of an amazing local seafood product that Chef Bruce finds locally. We were especially lucky to be the only four in there for lunch (a very rare occurrence) and we enjoyed every minute of it. For a once in a lifetime home dining experience, this is a must eat.
