My favorite thing to do when I'm on vacation is to find a great local spot to eat. I always rely on Yelp or just ask people around what the best place to eat around town might be. After our trip on the Going-To-The-Sun road, we were starving and someone suggested we try Pig & Olive.
They are a really cute sandwich shop located inside of a market that has a few additional shops and one additional restaurant within. All of their meat and produce is local to Montana as well. We ordered a cheese steak and the thai steak sandwich and they were both SO good. I wish I had taken more photos of the food (silly me for forgetting), but the sandwiches were really delicious.
I was really surprised to find such a delicious place in Whitefish Montana. It is a pretty small little town and I really didn't expect any delicacies.
After lunch, I shopped around the Stumptown Marketplace and visited the local vendors. My two favorite stops were Steep's Tea Shop and Big Mountain Candy Company. You really can't leave town without grabbing some huckleberry flavored taffy or fudge from the candy company. I also grabbed some delicious hibiscus lemongrass tea from Steeps.
It was fun to eat and shop like a local in Whitefish! I highly recommend stopping by Pig & Olive next time you are in Whitefish Montana.
